Squirrel Scouts is an exciting and inclusive program designed for children aged 4 & 5: helping your child to learn, grow, and have fun while making friends through engaging activities and play in a safe and supportive environment.
Squirrels only launched in 2021, so we don't have as many groups with a "Squirrel Drey" in Hackney or Tower Hamlets as we'd like — yet...
As a parent / carer, you have the opportunity to be part of this growing group of Scouts. We are actively working to expand this program to meet the demand and foster a sense of community among young children – so please contact your local group about getting involved!
Squirrels offers a welcoming environment where children can explore, learn, and develop essential social skills. Our programme focuses on having fun and making friends whilst going outside, getting crafty, trying new friends through activities like:
Exploring the world around us
Encouraging a love for the outdoors through walks, finding out about plants & animals, and learning about our planet.
Crafts and Games:
Engaging in hands-on projects that enhance creativity and coordination.
Teamwork and Friendship:
Meeting new friends, sharing experiences and building connections
Personal Development:
Squirrels gain in confidence, build skills for life, and start to develop a sense of independence.
Connecting with the community:
You'll meet other parents and their Squirrels – making friends and building a network of support within the commmunity.
Early Learning:
The programme was developed with funding from Department for Education, and tested by experts in the field. It aligns with early childhood development principles, helping children grow socially, emotionally, and physically.
