Tuesday August 15th 2006 Here are the Scouts' diaries for days
19 and 20
Moose Shorten - 12th Hackney - Day Nineteen
Today we all got up late and got ready to visit another church as part
of the 'My Faith' badge. When we arrived at the church, everyone was really
welcoming, including the Baptist Preacher. They were all a bit like the
members of the church where our Scout Group meets! I didn't really enjoy
the whole thing, mainly because I didn't like the things that the Preacher
was talking about. It also went on far too long! After church we all went
up the I4 to Disney's Animal Kingdom. When we arrived, we headed straight
for the main attraction - Everest. This is a roller coaster which has
lots of twists and turns, goes backwards and is really bumpy, really enjoyable.
It was probably the best ride on offer from Disney. When we left the park,
we went home to a dinner cooked by Ola, Melisa and Charlotte (they were
doing their Chef's badge). PS. Thanks for the cold food! A varied day
of interest, to say the least!
Joe Wood - 12th Hackney - Day Twenty
We woke up at 11am today, feeling really tired. We had just had about
six continuous days of non-stop activity! We had a cooked breakfast and
then jumped into the van to go shopping! The time went really fast. I
bought three t-shirts, two from GAP and one from the Disney shop, before
we knew it, it was time to go back to the house to get ready to meet the
American Scouts. We changed into our purple polo shirts and set of. When
we arrived the American Scouts had ordered 25 large Pizzas from Pizza
Hut for us and some of the mums had made cakes, trifles and non-alcoholic
punch - it was a really nice treat. We then challenged the American Scouts
to a game of soccer; I thought our team played a bit rough. We all had
an opportunity to swap badges, scarves and even our Scout Shirts after
the game. I got an American Scout Shirt, a scarf and a load of badges.
I had a really enjoyable evening. I hope to meet them again one day.
