Thursday August 3rd 2006 We have asked the Scouts to keep a diary of their experience. We thought it would be nice to show extracts on the site. The extracts are unabridged!

Jack Gillett - 14th Hackney - Day One
We all met at the Hackney Town Hall at 7 o'clock to leave on the coach for the airport. We got to the airport and had to check in. We got on the plane and had an 8 hour and 30 minute journey. When we got off the plane it was raining outside. We then got out of the airport and got some minibuses. We then drove to our villas, but it took a long time because we couldn't find them! We got to the villas eventually and changed clothes to go shopping at Walmart. We bought some food and stuff and then went back to the villas and had some supper. We all then watched Turkish Kick Boxing on the tv. Then we all finally went to bed to go to sleep.

Oliver Whitsed Robbins - 7th Stoke Newington - Day Two
Dear Diary, There are two really annoying birds singing and I am annoyed at them. Got up around 9.00am and relaxed for a while. We got to go into the pool, played air hockey and that's kind of it!

Charlotte Joseph - 12th Hackney - Day Three
Dear Diary, Today we went to Universal Orlando resort. We watched Shrek 4-D, Twister and Terminator 2 3-D. I enjoyed the Mummy(a roller coaster) after I gave myself some confidence to go on it! Back to the Future and Nickleodion (Jimmy Nutron) were both simulators and we were hurled everywhere. The packed lunch (which I made) was soggy and manky! Derrick said if one spoon went missing from the house then each group would pay ten dollars each to replace them! That's a lot of money! Soon we went to the kids zone and we went on the ET Adventure, it was rubbish! And we ran through a mine field of water fountains, we got wet!

Adam Benjamin - 14th Hackney - Day Four
We woke up between 8 and 9 then we set off to the Nike Clearance store. We spent about an hour there and in the Dollar Shop before setting off to another Nike Store where we had our lunch and looked at other stores. Then we drove to another centre, where we spent most of the day and hardly bought anything! Finally we set off looking for a place to eat, but everywhere seemed to be packed. After a long dive we finally decided to eat at McDonalds before heading back home.

Mikayla Healy - 29th Hackney - Day Five
Today I started my swimming lessons with David. They are really fun, I think I'm getting the hang of swimming. I think I'll be able to swim by the time I get home. When we went to the cinema at Universal Orlando we saw 'John Tucker Must Die'. It was really funny. Afterwards, some of us went back into Islands of Adventure and rode The Dueling Dragons. I really enjoyed it. Before we went home, we saw a firework display - it was really cool.

Erhan Korkmen - 12th Hackney - Day Six
Today we went shopping (again). We went to a huge shopping city where I bought a 'Guns and Roses' greatest hits CD, which is knock out! I was saving my money, so I really didn't get much. I bought red and black laces to match my new Vans Trainers, now they look wicked! We had to do a barbecue, which went bad as bad as a chocolate fireguard! Terrible! Then cleaning the barbecue was like trying to douse hell with a bucket of water, bloody terrible! Me and Ollie were up to 2 o'clock in the morning finishing all the cleaning. Then I stubbornly fell asleep.

Benn Kingsley Joseph - 14th Hackney - Day Seven
Today I woke up at 11am and saw everybody in the pool. So I jumped in as well for about an hour then got out. About 15mins after getting out we got changed and headed off for Mike's house. We stayed there for 20mins and then went to Walmart. The only person who came from the other house was Charlie Gillett. After shopping we dropped Charlie off at his house and returned to our Villa. We went for a swim for about an hour. Mike's house came round to us for a game of football - it was way too hot to play! After football the other house left and we all munched into Pasta Bake which Joanne made, washed up, and then crashed out in bed after watching Reno 911, The Chapelle Show and South Park, which were all funny.

Hannah Cowley - 29th Hackney - Day Eight
We woke up bright and early to get ready for the Sea-World Adventure! Off we went. James was being an idiot, he was really cringey! He kept pretending to a penguin, and walking like an odd bod! I think his brain had fallen out of his arse that morning!!!! The first show we saw was the Dolphin Show, it was okay. Then we went to the 'rubbish' circus show, needless to say we did not enjoy that! Then we went to see, what I thought was the best show, 'Believe' starring Shamu the Killer Whale. That was a really excellent show, although the opening was quite cheesy! We rode the roller coasters, and wet rides. Some of us were suffering from heat exhaustion. Only some of us rode the rides. Kraken was by far the best rollercoaster here! Massimo conquered his of roller coasters by riding Kraken! Later on we went home and performed our own version of the Shamu's show, (I played Shamu!) in our pool! Then some of us went shopping and James continued to embarrass me! I felt that today was one of the best days so far.
